Tender: Tender for Blair Park Amenities Building Upgrade & Extension - T003-2018, New South Wales, closes 23/07/2018 3:00 p.m. NSW ...

Burwood Council is seeking Tenders for the works to refurbish and expand its amenities block located at Blair Park, Burwood. Blair Avenue, Action Street, and Queen Street border the park, all with residential properties opposite. Burwood Girl's High School immediately borders the amenities block along the parks north-east boundary.
The existing facility consists of male and female toilets, visitor and home team change rooms, a canteen and storage. The facility is used in conjunction with the sporting field adjacent, whilst the male and female toilets are open to the general public. Given the proximity of the soccer field, durability of the external envelope of the block has been identified as an important consideration.
In general, the proposed works entail the following:
· Strip out and refurbishment of the toilets
· Retention of the existing Visitor's Change with minor upgrade works
· Full strip out of the canteen and demolition of the walls enclosing the store
· Enlargement of the canteen with new fit out to provide small scale commercial cooking facilities
· and associated sale point (Nominated kitchen equipment subcontractor to be engaged by the
· Contractor for supply and installation of equipment).
· Retention of the existing Home Team Change with minor upgrade works
· Addition of a new wing housing 2/off stores and an office.
· Extension of the verandah roof facing the playing fields and associated concrete paving.
· Retention of existing prefinished metal ceilings but full replacement of the roofing, including
· new insulation.
· Electrical services, including new underground Telstra connection, lighting, power, communications and distribution board.
· Hydraulic works including new grease arrestor, sanitary drainage to suit planning changes and new stormwater collection and connection to existing.
The existing structure consists of load-bearing brickwork on a raft slab with a timber framed, metal deck roof over. The effects of the reactive soil foundations are visibly evident in the cracking of some floors
and walls. The structure for the new wing has been documented with brick veneer external walls, steel stud internal partitions, timber framed roof and structural steel beams and columns. Finishes are rudimentary and durable.
The closing date for the tender is 23 July 2018 at 3.00 pm.
